KC EdCollective 2020 | October 9th Featuring Community On Demand Card Game

KC EdCollective 2020 | October 9th Featuring Community On Demand Card Game

Introduction

Picture a learning event full of energy, collaboration and interaction, where the presenters aren’t talking at you for hours, they’re sharing what’s working for them and creating space to discuss implications for your own practice. Imagine what it would be like to be at this place connecting with other educators who are working for the common good, sharing your own ideas and walking away feeling supported, connected and validated in your work. See yourself having deep conversations with your peers about what matters most in education, laughing with new friends, and connecting and networking with educators from around the city.

How Does The unConference Work?

morning: 10-10-10 strategy

Each participant to the unconference will leave with one emotionally compelling and high impact idea or strategy and a KC metro point-of-contact for follow up. Ideas are shared for 10 minutes, followed by discussion and networking.

afternoon: design summits

We lead you through how to create prototype solutions to your challenges and implement them in the classroom within one-two weeks. The sessions involve brainstorming problems, sharing stories, defining challenges and exploring solutions. A Design Summit follows the lean design thinking process over ninety minutes.

Community on Demand Workshop

The Importance of Collective Impact

NEXT Steps will be presenting our case study with aSTEAM Village to demonstrate the importance of Collective Impact.  On January 20, 2020, aSTEAM Village hosted a STEAM event that drew several hundred students to Union Station from four local schools.  A group of 86 students in 5th - 8th grade were invited to join us for our first Community On Demand Play Date for a team.

Join us for Breakout Round 3 of 3 - 11:15 – 11:55 am Central Time on October 9, 2020 to see video instruction on how to play the Community On Demand card game and use it as an edtech learning tool to develop collective impact solutions for learners of any age.
